Why You Should Become a Member
NARPO was formed in 1919 as a branch based organisation, with local branches spread throughout England and Wales.
NARPO is a founder member of the Public Service Pensioners Council which represents the views of well over 1 million pensioners in the public sector. Through this body NARPO has access to representation to many government departments. In addition the Association continues to liaise, both formally and informally, with the Police Staff Associations and through them make our voice heard on the Police Negotiating Board in respect of pension matters
Southport & District Branch 94 is one of four local branches which cover the Merseyside Policing area. The local membership is not limited to retired Merseyside Police officers and includes former officers from other Forces who live in the Southport and district area. The other branches are, Wallasey, St. Helens and Merseyside, formerly Liverpool Branch.
NARPO is a rank free association of retired police officers dedicated to improving benefits for all members with particular emphasis on pensions and welfare. It’s good to know that you have pension experts available to guide and assist you should difficulties arise. NARPO help and assistance to individual members facing problems arising out of their services or with their pensions can be vital in achieving the best result, as no other organisation is established to provide you with this most important assistance. The Police Federation is no longer able to assist and in pension issues you may be up against your former Force.
